Evidence of Dreamweaver tuition sessions with Steve Griffiths...

Unfortunately I still have yet to get a few links working correctly and am unable to put it up online yet because it is still a work in progress, HOWEVER!!!! here are some screen grabs so you can get the general idea of it! I wanted my website to be plain, minimal and really nice and simple, to let the images speak for them selves as I am not really a huge fan of too much on the page at once!

This is the home page, there are links underneath my name as you can see here....
Click on these to navigate around the website.
Here are some screen grabs of my other pages, I haven't put them all up as I still want to finish it before I publish it... I have put an image bar on the right side just some little images that are some of my favourites. Eventually I would like these to flash as I have a million favourites so it would be good to have them constantly changing to my different favourite links, this could also include music too. I think it will be a really nice personal touch.

I really enjoyed these sessions with Steve, as I wanted to make a website origionally. It is really tedious and long winded but I think the outcomes are great so it is worth it I guess! But yeah I think it is a great thing to learn.

Evaluation.

During this project I have come across quite a few problems- in terms of realizing my "Design Philosophy", which to be honest I still have no idea of what it is. Hopefully (STRONG emphasis on the hopefully) it will come to me ASAP!!!
Overall I really liked this project, even though I had a lot of dry patches where I was completely stuck. I think this was because I did feel like I was being pushed into making a video (in terms of actual video footage etc) so I started to record and everything, have ideas for films etc, then I finally talked to Jamie, after a lot of stressful head banging, and then I sorted everything out and did a photo shoot. I am quite disappointed in terms of my passion for the subject is not the same as when I first started the project. I wanted to create a website, something interactive and something that would well portray ME. I think the main reason why I found this project so difficult to come to a conclusion of what my "design philosophy" is, is because I just don't know what I like, I have a love for everything! I find it so difficult to put my ideas across in words and speech so this complicates things even more because it means I can't tell anyone and then it makes it even more hard because nobody knows what I am going on about, so I just end up going on and round in circles getting confused about everything... AGAIN with the rambling!!!!
So yeah I'm just gonna stop talking rubbish and just say the generic ending to an evaluation, "I really enjoyed this project because..." Ha...
Erm no seriously I did enjoy it, however I wanted to be clearer in myself in terms of understanding my actual concept and philosophy but yeah!

The final edits!!!!

Gonna put these into a spread on in design and on a youtube video which I think will look rubbish but anyways.....

Photography by Tom Hole. CLICK!!!

This one i stuffed the tights with cotton wool to create a strange abnormality, my inspiration came from lucy and bart, however I don't think it looks as good as I was hoping, I do like it but I think maybe I should have painted them???

I love this one because the body looks really abnormal, almost looks like her arm is the other one that is twisted right around.

I love this shot, not sure why I just really like the lighting and pose.

This outfit looks really good, I like the proportions and the way you can't really see the shape of her body.

This is the shirt I sewed 40 gloves onto each sleeve! I think it looks really beautiful and swan like! Also this shot it looks like wings. I wanted to accentuate the shoulders in a beautiful way, and contemporary way also. I think the gloves look really cool!

Make up shots, I wanted to create an abnormal contemporary look. I think it looks awesome. Make up by Charlotte Millerchip.

The Shoot...

I wanted to create an abnormal and quite contemporary feel to the photo, I gave my photographer my initial inspirational imagery and he came up with lighting plans and helped create the scene with angles and gave an input on poses too which was really helpful.

My concept was to create abnormal shapes and give a contemporary feel to fashion, I wanted to create strange shapes with the body through the styling, poses and little elements within the garments such as cotton wool in the tights, using a bed sheet and draping it on the model, oversized pearls and a massive fur coat tied to the model with a belt to accentuate "baggy-ness" and the difference in sizes between the model and the garment. Overall I am really pleased with the shoot and the contemporary feel it gives, I love the clean lighting and delicate shadows that are created, my photographer; Tom Hole CLICK!!!! is currently editing the final 8 shots, so I will put them onto a spread and then a video and post it on here asap!

Photo shoot story boarding... (sorry about the bad quality pictures)
These two ideas I really like, I would have the model facing her back to the camera, it would create a silhouette similar to a manequinn and also quite and alien like shape.

This one I had the idea of using fabrics to create really long arms that wrap around the body- creating almost a straight jacket feel.

From this I thought perhaps I could create this on the top image of the model with her back to the camera with arms or fabrics wrapping around and restricting her, this idea was inspired from the work of Una Burke, you can see her work on my blog in previous posts.

This then developed further to using elastic bands all over the model but then just homing in on a certain area- eg shoulder/ neck and arm area. Focusing on the tight elastic against the soft skin.

This image I thought of having hair nets over the models face and her expression to be like she is screaming to give the idea of her being trapped like a fish when it is trapped in a net.

Here is a more subtle disfigureation that I would probably use photoshop to do, a boy and girl are in the shot the boy is leaning on the girls shoulder, but she has got two eyes- it is a subtle disfiguration but I want it to be more of a double take so people dont notice it at first.

Here my inspiration came from an illustration by Egon Schiele, the model would be wearing beautiful delicate fabrics and petty coats, but would be holding up the dress and her legs would have lumps and disfigurements on them, perhaps made from latex, pva etc or maybe padded out tights???

Here my inspiration came from Lucy and Bart with the balloons and tights idea, creating hunch backs and lumps and bumps making the body into a completely new silhouette

Similar idea here but with wadding or rubbish/ maybe plastic bags...???
